Many people and businesses keep contacts in several places: an iPhone, a work Outlook or Microsoft 365 account, Google Contacts, or a CRM. Apple doesn't offer a simple built-in way to keep iCloud Contacts continuously in sync with these services, so contacts get duplicated, go out of date, or go missing on your phone. Callers show up as unknown numbers, and teams waste time copying details by hand. SyncPenguin solves this by keeping iCloud Contacts automatically synced with the other tools you use, following the rules you define.

How does it work?

The Apple iCloud Contacts connector lets you automatically sync the contacts stored in your iCloud account, the same ones on your iPhone, iPad and Mac, with other contact apps, CRMs and business tools. With SyncPenguin, you can set up one-way or two-way syncs, choose to sync your entire address book or just a specific contact group, and control exactly which contacts and fields are synced. New, updated and deleted contacts flow automatically, so your iCloud address book stays up to date without manual exports or imports.

Popular real-world use cases

  • Keep iCloud Contacts and Google Contacts in two-way sync so a household or team using both iPhones and Android phones always shares the same address book.
  • Push your company's Microsoft 365 Global Address List into employees' iCloud Contacts so coworkers' names show up on incoming calls on their iPhones.
  • Two-way sync Outlook Contacts with iCloud Contacts so contacts added on your iPhone appear in Outlook on your work computer, and vice versa.
  • Sync HubSpot contacts with a specific lifecycle stage into a dedicated "Clients" group in iCloud so sales reps can recognize customers when they call.
  • Send contacts from Pipedrive or Zoho CRM to iCloud Contacts one-way, keeping your phone's address book updated with the latest customer details from your CRM.
  • Automatically add iCloud contacts that belong to a "Newsletter" group to your Mailchimp audience.
  • Consolidate contacts from Microsoft 365 Contacts and Google Contacts into a single iCloud address book, using filters to skip contacts without a phone number.
  • Sync QuickBooks or Xero customers into an iCloud contact group so small business owners have up-to-date client phone numbers and addresses on their iPhone.
  • Share a selected iCloud contact group between several iCloud accounts, such as family members or a small team, with a one-to-many sync.
  • Keep Exchange On-Premises contacts synced with iCloud Contacts for users who rely on an on-prem mail server at work and an iPhone on the go.

Key features

Two-Way Sync

Keep iCloud Contacts and your other apps in sync in both directions, or push contacts one way only. It's your choice.

Contact Groups

Sync your whole address book or just one iCloud group. You can also sync group membership, and missing groups are created automatically.

Rich Contact Details

Sync names, companies, job titles, emails, phones, addresses, birthdays, websites and notes, with home, work and mobile types preserved.

Smart Change Tracking

Only new, changed and deleted contacts are processed. This keeps syncing fast and avoids duplicates.

All Apple Devices

Synced contacts appear instantly on your iPhone, iPad, Mac and anywhere else you use iCloud.

Affordable & Scalable

With SyncPenguin you only pay for changes to your data, regardless of how many contacts you initially have, or will have in the future.

Supported fields

First name Last name Middle name Display name Nickname Title (prefix) Suffix Company Department Job title Emails (home, work, other) Phones (mobile, home, work, fax, other) Addresses (home, work, other) Website Birthday Notes Contact groups

Things to note

  • Custom fields aren't supported because iCloud Contacts has no user-defined custom fields. All standard contact details listed above are synced.
  • Contact photos, social profiles, related names and additional dates such as anniversaries are not synced at the moment.
  • If a contact has several websites, only the first one is synced.
  • Custom labels on emails, phones and addresses are matched to the closest standard type (home, work, mobile, fax or other).
  • To protect your account and stay within Apple's limits, SyncPenguin paces its requests to iCloud. Very large address books may take a little longer to sync the first time.
  • Connecting requires your Apple ID email and an app-specific password, which Apple requires for third-party apps when two-factor authentication is enabled.
